The forum was organized by the Government of the Arkhangelsk region, the Cluster of shipbuilding and marine engineering of the Arkhangelsk region with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. The main events took place within the walls of the Northern (Arctic) Federal University - the largest in the north of Russia.

The implementation of various projects in the Arctic regions, the growth in traffic along the Northern Sea Route, the development of offshore oil and gas fields - all these processes create an impetus for the development of shipbuilding, ship repair and other industrial enterprises, both in the Arkhangelsk region and in other northern regions of the Russian Federation.

Participants of the forum “Shipbuilding in the Arctic” talked about how to meet the needs of enterprises in modern fleet, marine equipment, the supply of ship component equipment of Russian manufacture, the training of qualified personnel and high-quality after-sales service. Among them are representatives of leading shipbuilding, ship repair, engineering, engineering companies, federal and regional authorities, development institutions, experts and analysts.

During the forum, the participants also discussed the construction of a fishing fleet, tourist cruise ships for high latitudes, the possibility of using liquefied natural gas as a ship fuel.
